MUSIC ON THE STREET TALKS WITH ADAM CORKERY, MUSIC DIRECTOR AT LAKE OSWEGO’S SCHOOL OF ROCK

You can’t open up a newspaper or magazine without seeing another study on the benefits of music education for kids. As a result, there are an abundance of programs popping up around town, but how do you know what is best for your child?Music On The Street is going to help. We are featuring several innovative music programs in the next few weeks that may or may not be familiar to you. Last month we featured the Portland Symphonic Girlchoir, and this month, we’ll look at the School of Rock in Lake Oswego as well as the Youth Music Project.

Starting with the former, Adam Corkery, the music director at Lake Oswego’s School of Rock, shared information with Music On The Street about two new programs—Little Wing and Rookies—along with other fun musical opportunities at SoR.
