With a pair of gigantic scissors, School of Rock owner Greg Moore cut the ribbon.  That marks the official opening of the Ankeny school.  He was joined by Ambassadors from the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce and other local organizations.

"We are really excited to be here in Ankeny, and to become part of the community," Moore said.  "We encourage students learning music to play as part of a band, and we get them on stage performing."

This is the third School of Rock in the state of Iowa.  The other two locations are in West Des Moines and Cedar Rapids/Marion.  This location offers a range of lessons including guitar, bass, drums, keys, piano, and vocals.

Enrollment is off to a great start with kids and adults,  The adult student band has already started rehearsing songs that fit under the theme of "one-hit wonders".  We are excited to share the progress of our musicians, so stay tuned for our  first performance!
