"I thought it was fun" was all she needed to start learning guitar. And we're glad to hear it continues to be a fun experience!
Well, there may be some influence. Emma Hruska's dad also plays the guitar. That may have been a factor before she started taking lessons. But after a few months, Emma continues to enjoy learning new songs at the Ankeny school in the Rock 101 program.
"My favorite part about learning music is just playing the music. It makes me feel happy. You feel it here," she says, pointing to her heart.
Not only is the experience enjoyable, music also has a positive mental health impact.
"Music makes me feel better when I'm sad. If I have a bad day, I just like to play. Radioactive is my favorite song to play when I'm sad," Emma says.
Her dream is to become a rock star. Along the way, share encouragement with other performers. Her wise words: Keep going! You're going to do great!
We love that music comes from Emma's heart, hearing that warms all of our hearts.
