After months of planning and construction, we are excited to announce our brand-new School of Rock Ankeny location will be opening in mid-August!

The new space is about 2,400 square feet and there are a lot of cool features with the design.  Students and families can expect nine one-on-one rooms for individual lessons, two large rehearsal rooms for groups, and a large student lounge.  But the best new feature that's unique to this location is a stage that would transform the campus into a performance venue.  The garage door attached to the main rehearsal room allows us to welcome the community for small shows, camp performances, or open houses without leaving the school.

Greg Moore, owner of School of Rock locations in Iowa, says being able to share the musical experience with more Iowans is why he decided to open a third location in the state.

"I feel extremely fortunate to see students start, become great players, find their group of friends, and build their confidence both on and off the stage.  The opportunity to do that again in Ankeny and help build the Central Iowa music community is super-appealing," Moore said.

We are fortunate and excited to announce a talented leader who will be overseeing this location as General Manager, Aubrey Fleming.  She has a degree in human resources and labor relations, plus a minor in Japanese from Michigan State University.  Fleming is also a member of After Hours, the West Des Moines adult student band.

"Making kids smile, teaching the arts, listening to awesome music, meeting local rock stars, and incorporating my degree is like a dream come true," she said.  "School of Rock has such a positive reputation in the Iowa community and I feel really honored that I get to expand that influence."

Her goal as a general manager is to create an environment that feels like a second home for people.

The school is located at 1875 N Ankeny Blvd, near the corner of N Ankeny Blvd and 18th St right next to Smoothie King.
