JUNE STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: XANDER LARSH

Xander's music quest was inspired by Marty McFly's Johnny B Goode performance. He also plays other instruments such as the piano, the trumpet, and bass guitar.

Back to the Future is a timeless film from 1985 - but the film continues to inspire people today. Xander Larsh says music plays such a big role in his life, it's his favorite hobby.

"I like music more than playing sports. It’s fun and I like the dopamine hit from learning new songs," he said.

He admits dirt bikes are cool, but something about jamming out is a different experience.

"Learning music opens up pathways in your brain and produces dopamine," Larsh said.

He has been learning guitar at School of Rock since November of last year. His advice for fellow musicians: life’s a garden, dig it!

More about Xander:

Favorite song to perform: Sweet Home Alabama

Fun fact: He rides dirt bikes.
