prep days
At the beginning of October, we ran Prep Days for the first time. Prep Days are committed to staff development and school organization and cleaning. Day one was spent in the individual schools and on day two, all three schools got together at the Highland Heights location for additional training. Much learning and bonding was accomplished!
We hope to do this at the end of every show season, as it’s an opportunity for staff members to reset and come in with fresh ideas and new energy to bring to their lessons and rehearsals.

Drum Core
This is a new program for students 11 and under with no prior drumming experience. Students will learn the basic tools necessary to play drums successfully in a live band. Group rhythm exercises as well as jamming basic songs with instructors will provide students the opportunity to develop into a drummer who is ready to lead a song at a much quicker pace than lessons alone. Drum Core includes a one-hour group rehearsal as well as a 45-minute individual lesson once a week.

School of rock cleveland house bands
The School of Rock Cleveland House Band music program gives students 18 and under the opportunity to join a gigging band composed of fellow musicians from their local schools. These students, comprisingn of students from Cleveland West, Highland Heights, and Strongsville, perform additional live shows throughout the year. All students in the Performance Program have the opportunity to audition for a spot in our House Band, Headliners, or Jr House Band, Jr Headliners. Once selected, House Band members become leaders in their School of Rock community, and perform live shows at local rock venues throughout the year.

UPCOMING closures & events
November:
- All School of Rock Cleveland locations will be closed on 11/28. All schools will resume normal hours 11/29.
December:
- All School of Rock Cleveland locations will be closed for holiday break 12/24 through 1/1/2025. Lessons and rehearsals will resume 1/2/2025.
January:
- Cleveland West will hold their Grad School performances on January 4th at Brothers Lounge.
- Highland Heights will hold their Grad School performances on January 5th at Beachland Tavern.
- All School of Rock Cleveland locations will hold their end-of-season shows on January 18th, 19th, 25th, and 26th. We are still in the process of finalizing these performances with venues. Once confirmed, you may view all event details here: https://www.schoolofrock.com/events
Best of Season Show
On Sunday, February 2nd, we will hold our Best of Season Show (time and venue TBD). The Best of Season show brings all three School of Rock Cleveland locations together for one big show, featuring one song from each performance group across the schools. This event is an important part of our community, so please mark your calendars!
