It was a busy summer for the students, staff and management of School of Rock Calgary South. As we settle into fall, let's take a look at the activities of summer 2022.
House Band
Our House Band was busy performing all over the city and beyond.
They capped off our outdoor summer school show in June with an enthusiastic performance in the rain.
In July, they rocked the Firehouse stage in Langdon, and the Coca-Cola Stage at the Calgary Stampede.
August saw more House Band performances at the iconic King Eddy, and Savagefest, a fundraiser for Veteran's Foodbank.
And they finished off the summer at the Saskatoon Farm Fall Fair. We hope you got a chance to see our awesome House Band this summer!
Summer Camps
In July and August, we ran 14 camps, with a total of 117 rock stars!
Each Friday of summer brought another camp show, in various locations, and each camp group made us smile with their love of music and their rock star energy. Campers made new friends, learned to play songs and had great stage experiences.
We are already looking forward to next summer! Watch for amazing deals on next summers camps starting at the end of November.
Relocation
Our school has been growing fast in the last year, and we decided it was time to leave our previous space, and build something new that could accomodate our students and staff to better accomplish our goals.
After much planning, purchasing and building, we moved into our new space at the beginning of August. Since then, we have been making changes, unpacking, rearranging and decorating.
The place is looking great! Stop by our Open House on October 22 to see what we've been up to.
We have had a great summer, and are happy to see so many students returning to our (new) lesson and rehearsal rooms this fall.
Stay tuned for more news as we plan for our next show in January.
