Doug Harris
Owner, General Manager
Music has been an important part of Doug's life since starting piano lessons at the age of 5. A multi-instrumentalist, Doug plays piano/keys, bass guitar, and all of the brass instruments. Doug considered going to music school to pursue a career in music while in high school. Due to a lack of confidence in his abilities, he got a degree in Economics instead of Music. After retiring from a successful career as a C-Level executive in financial services, Doug decided to open his own business and started looking for business opportunities.
When Doug discovered that School of Rock was an award-winning franchise business and not just a movie, he felt that he had found the opportunity to provide kids the ability to fulfill their musical dreams by giving them the confidence that world-class instruction and stage experience could provide them. Doug wants every student—child or adult—to have the ability to do anything they want with music. Whether that be to just experience the joy that it gives them, or to make a career of it.
Doug plays piano/keys and bass guitar in the Adult Performance Program, is actively involved in the local music scene, and is a driving force in local charities that support music education for all kids, the support of local musicians, and the preservation of live music in the area.

Jeff Key has played electric guitar, bass, acoustic guitar, keyboards, steel drums, and sang in bands across the United States, the Caribbean, South America, and Europe from the ’90s through today. He is college-trained in classical music, music theory, and blues/rock while touring in the modern rock scene. Initially entering the music field in high school, he sang in competitive vocal groups performing at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC and the National Music Educators Convention in Atlantic City, NJ. While in college, he had the opportunity to work with world-renowned flamenco guitarist Carlos Montoya and took master classes from Glenn Caluda and Chris Anderson. In the ’90s, Jeff performed in the national act Cracked Actor, recording 5 albums with producers John Palumbo (Crack the Sky) and Grammy-nominated Paul Leka (Summer of 42). This is where he really learned the craft of songwriting, arranging, and working in the music business. During this time, he also had the opportunity to work with Malcolm Hill Associates at the American distribution facility for the coliseum PA and lighting systems owned by ACDC.
Jeff still maintains connections in the audio-visual fields to the present day with the lighting director Jim Greenawalt for Sammy Hagar, and the front-of-house sound engineer Brad Divens for Enrique Iglesias. In 1995, he entered the world of resort and vacation entertainment performing throughout the Caribbean, America, Europe, and South America at beachside and ski resorts. This is what brought him to SW Florida, settling down with his vocalist wife to raise children in 2000. He has most recently been involved in music education for local children through partnerships at WGCU in public radio and the youth orchestras at both the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra and the Naples Philharmonic. His teenage kids are musically active playing cello, violin, piano, and guitar.

In 2010 Justin co-founded Thunderstruck, America’s AC/DC Tribute, (formerly Bon-Fire), and toured the country playing multiple times a week at various concert halls, casinos, theaters, fairs, and festivals, including The Northern Invasion Music Festival in Somerset, Wisconsin, where the band opened for Five Finger Death Punch and Rob Zombie. Thunderstruck also opened for Jackyl in 2016 and played at various House of Blues locations and the historic Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson played their last gig on February 2, 1959. For over three years, before his move from Southern Indiana to Naples, Justin subbed for local bands, playing rock and blues while recording drum tracks for a local artist.
