STUDENTS FROM SCHOOL OF ROCK GLENBROOK TAKE THE STAGE BY STORM AT SUMMERFEST!

NORTHBROOK, IL (JUNE 12TH, 2024) -- School of Rock, the leader in performance-based music education, is coming to Summerfest this year to take its students center stage with live performances by their Show Teams and House Bands throughout the festival on June 21st and 22nd. More than 620 students from School of Rock locations across the world will arrive in Milwaukee to play in their own student-led bands across six different stages. Throughout the festival, students will share the spotlight with some of the biggest names in music including mainstream and legendary rock acts, Mötley Crüe, Goo Goo Dolls, O.A.R, and SZA.

School of Rock Glenbrook provides students of all ages with an exciting and engaging learning environment for taking guitar lessons, drum lessons, bass lessons, keyboard lessons, and singing lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and The Beatles. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior instrumental skills and confidence on the big stage, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

The School of Rock Glenbrook Show Team is a by-audition group of our top young performers, who are exemplary in both skill and service. The team acts as our school’s “house band” and plays dozens of gigs in our community each year. Show Team members represent our school’s inclusive and positive culture and commitment to excellence in music education. The School of Rock Glenbrook Show Team has performed at Cubby Bear, Milwaukee Summerfest, Northbrook Days, Glenview Summerfest & Blocktoberfest, Lurie Foundation’s Children’s Ball, Reggies Live,  and at venues, parties, and special events all over Chicagoland!

"At School of Rock, we believe that live performance is one of the best tools in music education,” said Stacey Ryan, Chief Operating Officer at School of Rock. “I have attended Summerfest for the past decade to watch our students take the stage, and each year I am reminded of how transformative this experience is for them. Summerfest brings together School of Rock students from around the world, blending cultures, beliefs, and languages through the power of music. This unique opportunity fosters a deep sense of community and lifelong friendships. We are incredibly proud to be part of such an iconic festival and to celebrate our remarkable student bands."

“We are so excited for our students to have the opportunity to play at the largest music festival in the world for the 3rd year in a row!” said Erica Vazzano, General Manager of School of Rock Glenbrook. “They have worked extremely hard to get to this point, and we can’t wait to see them bring their passion to the Summerfest stage and take their skills to a new level.”
