Tony Bilello
Music Director
Tony is the Music Director in Greensboro. Before School of Rock, Tony was a Mixing and Mastering Engineer for a handful of record labels (Sumerian, HellCat, Rise, etc.) Tony looks forward to helping students further their journey of music.
Davis Cahill
General Manager
Davis taught piano and general music with Guilford County Schools for five years. He holds degrees in music education and philosophy & ethics from Greensboro College where his principal instrument was guitar. Davis was awarded Teacher of the Year at Jefferson Elementary in 2021 and was awarded International Music Teacher of the Year by the Lang Lang International Music Foundation in 2022.
Davis started playing piano when he was 8 years old and quickly fell in love with music. He learned bass and guitar in middle school, drums in high school, and has messed around with banjo, ukelele, trumpet, and any instrument he can get his hands on since then. Davis has played with some reputable bands and artists including For King and Country, 10th Avenue North, Matthew West, Danny Gokey, Rhett Walker, Brandon Heath, Toby Mac, Finding Favour, Audio Adrenaline, and more.
Davis continues to stay active in the local music scene where he plays guitar and bass for musical theatre productions, plays drums for the Greensboro College Jazz Ensemble, and leads worship at Awestruck Church in Southeast Greensboro. He loves getting to teach the students at the School of Rock in Greensboro, North Carolina, and is excited about developing the future musicians of NC.
Dan Glasgow
Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Dan began playing acoustic guitar and bass around age 12, and it wasn’t long before he also picked up electric guitar. In addition to learning songs and licks, he was always looking to learn, whether from local musicians, private instructors, or music theory courses in high school and at UNC. This helped him develop an interest in a wide variety of musical styles.
Dan previously taught guitar and bass at School of Rock - Raleigh before moving to Greensboro, and he enjoys the fun and creative environment that School of Rock offers students. He enjoys teaching (and playing) a variety of styles and genres, and can be found playing around NC, SC, and VA with various musical projects.
Jackson Kanoy
Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Vocal Teacher, Rookies Director
Jackson is a lifelong musician, who specializes primarily in the electric guitar and vocals. He grew up as a singer and musical theatre performer, studying in high school at Weaver Academy, but has been studying the capabilities of the guitar and music theory ever since discovering the instrument at age 14.
Jackson's areas of expertise include blues guitar, melodic improvisation, neo-soul, R&B, and classical musical theatre vocal technique.
Tyler Monroe
Drum Teacher
Tyler Monroe is a percussionist and composer with over five years of professional playing experience from the Raleigh-Durham area. He is a 2023 graduate of UNCG's Jazz Studies program, where his primary focus of study was on Black American Classical music. Tyler was introduced to mostly classic rock and hip hop at a young age and has explored early New Orleans music, funk, Afro-Cuban traditions, and free music in his own study.
Throughout Tyler's career, he was fortunate enough to receive mentorship from truly wonderful musicians, including Brevan Hampden, Jeremy "Bean" Clemmons, Geoff Clapp, Earnest Turner, and Joe Chambers. Tyler is dedicated to inclusive work within the arts community promoting equality and justice here and abroad, and considers it a great honor to pass on the knowledge that was so graciously given to him.
Ben Jones
Drum Teacher
Ben Jones has been playing the drums for the past 25 years. He has specialized in alternative rock, hard rock, metalcore, indie/folk, southern rock, hip hop, Contemporary Christian Worship. He specializes in both live performance and session work, having played with bands such as Source of Prosperity, As Darkness Fades, Farewell Friend, Immerse Worship, as well as various cover bands in the triad area. He takes a deep focus on playing with a team dynamic and emphasizes the importance of playing with both passion and dynamics as well as precision, but with room to make sure that it is always fun.
Julia Goodson
Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Julia began training in classical piano at age 7. When she began songwriting in her twenties, she discovered her musical passion. Julia graduated from UNCG with a Bachelor of Arts in music in 2017. She has eleven years of experience teaching piano to students of many ages and skill sets. Ms. Goodson enjoys using a personalized curriculum tailored to each student's needs, and encourages students to learn theory while exploring their own creativity.
Angie Hodges
Keyboard + Piano Teacher, Vocal Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Angie Hodges is a singer-songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist with experience performing and teaching all genres of music. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Palm Beach Atlantic University and teaches at a local charter school. Her favorite genre is indie-folk/indie-rock. As a teacher of 10 years, Angie has worked with all ages. She loves helping her students find their own voice and use it to make the world a better place.
Mads Peek
Vocal Teacher
Mads Peek is a singer and musical theatre actor who has been excited to teach voice since he first learned that it was a job! He sang in community choirs from a young age and began acting in high school, where he also studied music theory.
Mads moved to Greensboro in 2021 to attend UNCG’s English program, from which he graduated in 2023. His roles include everything from tenor section leader at Winston Salem Theatre Alliance to co-director of music at the Community Theatre of Greensboro’s summer camp.
Matty Brotherton
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, and Vocal Teacher
Matty Brotherton is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Greensboro, NC. Matty has over a decade of professional performance experience and fifteen years of songwriting experience. Their primary instruments include voice and guitar, having played and sang with various indie rock groups. With their most recent creative project, Matty has solo-written, recorded, and released 2 full-length studio albums with their friend Jordan Krimston in San Diego. They are currently in between touring schedules and performing regularly around NC.
Matty also plays guitar at Jamestown Presbyterian Church on the weekends for the 9 AM Sunday service. Outside of their freelance work, they have experience performing with other groups such as choirs, big bands, and small vocal ensembles. Matty’s mission is to use musical experiences to inspire others while helping them embrace the joy and freedom that come with the act of making music.
