School of Rock Hinsdale quickly adapted to restrictions imposed by COVID, by moving lessons and rehearsals online and continues to adapt in-person programs to keep the music going while keeping student health and safety as the number one priority.

School of Rock's Songwriting program teaches the fundamentals of songwriting, arrangement, music theory, and helps students compose original works. These principles are then applied in a weekly session where students work together on songwriting workshops. At the end of each season, students will have the option to perform their original song(s) as part of the season show or to record a demo.

With the State of Illinois entering Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan, School of Rock is looking forward to opening it's doors in early July with the IDPH-approved safety guidance in place. Our top priority is and will continue to be the safety and health of our staff, students and the community. This reopening plan is done, slowly, diligently and with all the recommended safety protocols implemented as set out by the regional health authority and the School of Rock Franchise.

With virtual Master Classes, students will take a deep dive on numerous topics including Songwriting, Music Theory, Practice Strategies, Music History, Stagecraft, Music Business, Gear/Tech and many, many more.

Our new season starts the week of 2/3/20 and will go into Mid May. We will be running 5 Performance Rehearsals (ages 11-18). We are running five Performance Groups this Season: The Best of the 80's on Mondays at 4:30-6:45pm, The Who on Tuesdays at 6:45-9:00pm, Pink Floyd on Wednesdays at 4:30-6:45pm, CBGB on Wednesdays at 6:45-9:00pm, Jimi Hendrix on Thursdays at 6:45-9:00pm
