Gabe De Oliveira
Drum Teacher
Gabe fell in love with drums and percussion when he was introduced to the game Rock Band. After reaching the highest difficulty in the game and mastering it, his parents decided it was time to get him a real drum set. He then went on to join his middle school band and has since played in various school ensembles in high school and at his alma mater, East Carolina University, including marching band, symphonic band, and jazz band.
Outside of his education, Gabe has also been a part of several original projects around the Raleigh area. He is currently drumming for the pop-punk band FoundiT which was founded by his bandmates from their previous metalcore band Still Searching. Some of his favorite genres include classic rock, hip-hop, alternative rock, and just about anything from the '80s or '90s.
Gabe started his teaching career here at the School of Rock in Holly Springs, North Carolina, and was one of the first teachers to jump on board when the school opened in December 2022. Since then, Gabe has helped many students grow to their full potential. One of his favorite ways of teaching is by having students listen to the music they’re learning and make connections between what they are playing and what they are hearing to see how it all fits into the overall arrangement.
