This is where your School of Rock adventure and music journey begins! Our Rock Rookies camp is for complete beginners ages 6-8, as well as those who have had some prior lessons.
CAMP DESCRIPTION
This is where your child's School of Rock journey begins! Rookies campers are beginners ages 6 - 8. At Rookies Camp, kids learn to play and sing age-appropriate classic rock songs on electric guitar, bass, drums, keys, and vocals. Rookies campers get to explore all the instruments and pick the one they like most. They learn basic music fundamentals like song structure, rhythm, ear training, and how to play together as a group. On the last day of camp, they will put on a show and perform their songs!
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Day 1, drop off will be from 8:30 to 8:45 a.m. to collect camp paperwork and provide school tours.
On Days 2-5, drop-off will be at 8:45 to 9 a.m.
On the last day of camp, campers will stay until 3 p.m. to put on a camp show for families.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Students can expect a fun and educational week of learning the fundamentals of music taught by our talented music instructors. Each day they will have semi-private instruction, group rehearsals, and music-related games and activities. Each day, students should bring a lunch, snack, water bottle, and ear protection. And expect a rockin' show at the end of camp!
"The School of Rock method lets young kids try out musical instruments and teaches basic music skills. My 6-year-old really enjoyed Rookies Camp!"
