Ryan Brannan
Music Director, Vocal Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Ryan has been involved in music writing, production, and band performance for over 20 years. He has co-written over five albums of music and has professionally performed them as a lead vocalist and acoustic guitar player. Ryan was on tour with the band Highpoint and has performed professionally with several internationally known artists including Nickelback, Incubus, Saliva, Sevendust, Meat Puppets, Sublime, and members of Nirvana. He has also been a professional actor in several popular programs including All My Children, Guiding Light, One Life to Live, and Law & Order.
Ryan is the vocalist and songwriter for the genre-bending band Reverend Guess, playing locally in DFW.
Farhad Kalwar
Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Farhad is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter on a mission to help anyone who dreams of performing! He has been performing for over a decade, playing multiple instruments and singing.
Farhad started playing drums at age 12 when he received his first drum set. He was in the drumline and several bands throughout school. Then at 13 he joined classical guitar and songwriting classes and quickly advanced in his musical foundation and melody incorporation. Farhad has performed in several bands before small and large crowds and presently performs in the band BackTalk.
Farhad teaches beginners to advanced guitar, bass, and drums at the School of Rock in Prosper, Texas.
R.G. Stark
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
R.G. Stark started playing guitar on the mean streets of Frisco, TX back when there was only one high school and one blinking light in town. After moving to Austin to play trombone in the UT Longhorn marching band, R.G. began his rock-n-roll journey in earnest by playing in a series of garage bands including the infamous proto-grunge outfit Amish Rage.
R.G. went on to co-front the pop/punk power trio The Knievels, who were signed by Sweatbox Records and released their critically acclaimed debut Que Sabor! The band went on to tour the Eastern United States and played a showcase at SXSW before splitting up. R.G.'s next project (called Blue Diamond Shine) featured R.G. as the main songwriter and vocalist. The band recorded three albums, toured, and played some of the legendary dive bars of central Texas. The BDS album Shrimpboat Town was listed as a top ten pick in 2006 by Christopher Gray of the Austin Chronicle.
R.G. also worked as a sideman touring and recording with Eric Hisaw, Bonny Holmes, and Ron Flynt of 20/20. After working as a musician for over 20 years, R.G. became a certified Texas educator, teaching middle school science; eventually moving back to North Texas to be closer to family. R.G. is very excited to be able to combine his passion for educating young folks and his love of rock-n-roll here at School of Rock Prosper!
A'lan Mack
Keyboard + Piano Teacher
A'lan (Mack) was born and raised in Houston, TX, and is a jazz-trained pianist, producer, and engineer. He moved to the Dallas area to attend the University of North Texas, where he studies entrepreneurship and enterprise management.
Mack has traveled across the U.S. performing Latin jazz, worked as an engineer and producer for a record label, earned radio credits for his instrumentals on 97.9 The Box, and taught piano and production to children. Mack believes having fun is one of the most important aspects of learning and loves collaborating with other creatives. His playing and teaching style reflect his belief that music is a vehicle for fun and freedom.
Mack is ecstatic to teach students of all ages at School of Rock Prosper as a piano and keys instructor, where he hopes to inspire other musicians and create fun memories and meaningful experiences.
Wriley Hayslip
Vocal Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Wriley has been carrying her love for music from the ranch to the rehearsal room from the age of 5. She began taking private lessons as a young child, eventually joining her school’s choir and winning multiple awards and competitions. When she moved on to high school, Wriley found herself in a school without a choir which led to her joining her first School of Rock performance group and picking up the bass guitar.
Music has been a grounding presence for Wriley throughout her life, and having been raised on everything from country to metal to grunge to folk, there is no genre in which she can’t find her next favorite album. As she has grown older she has also embraced many other interests, but art is the unifying factor
But Wriley doesn’t just have a passion for listening and performing music. As someone who has always cared passionately about community Wriley has always emphasized platforming and supporting small local artists, even participating in bands herself as a vocalist. She is currently pursuing a psychology degree with hopes of pursuing a career that allows her to help youths going through mental health and interpersonal struggles.
Carson Parker
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Carson is a guitar and bass instructor at the School of Rock in Prosper, Texas. He is a former School of Rock student and was active in the Houston music scene during his time as a student. Carson has been involved in the North Texas music scene for a couple of years since moving here for college.
Carson has many years of experience performing, teaching, booking shows, and recording in many different scenes all around Texas. His greatest passion is music, whether listening, playing, or composing; from rock to jazz to noise, he loves pushing the boundaries of music. Carson is excited to teach guitar and bass at School of Rock Prosper so that he can pass along his musical experience to future rockers.
Cameron Justice
Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher
Cameron is a bass teacher, guitar teacher, and drum teacher at the School of Rock in Prosper, Texas. Cameron is a graduate of the School of Rock in Flower Mound, TX, and has been performing professionally in the Denton area and around the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex since graduating.
In addition to his time performing, Cameron also studies music at the University of North Texas. Cameron's time as a performer and a songwriter spans multiple different genres and styles, and he enjoys studying a variety of styles and instruments inside and outside of the University.
Kelsey Brannan
Rookies Teacher, Little Wing Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Kelsey is a Texas-born-and-raised multi-instrumentalist and a lover of music from an expansive range of genres and styles. From the time Kelsey was a small child, she has delighted in playing a variety of instruments; her tools of the trade often include guitar, vocals, keys, and bass. She was active in choir and orchestra during her school-age years. By high school, Kelsey collaborated as half of a duo called Emerald Rise, in which she was a guitarist and songwriter. She also performed in her church worship band on keys and vocals for years.
Kelsey is an accomplished visual artist who loves to draw, paint, write, and make digital art. She graduated from the Art Institute of Dallas with a bachelor's degree in fine art and has worked professionally as a graphic artist for over a decade.
Kelsey currently performs and creates music as a vocalist, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist with the North Texas-based band Reverend Guess. Kelsey is amped to work with students as an instructor at School of Rock Prosper, where she hopes to foster a lifelong pursuit of music and arts in our young musicians.
