Make this school year ROCK!

BACK TO SCHOOL...OF ROCK!

The Performance Program is School of Rock's hallmark music program, where tens of thousands of students enroll each year. Utilizing the patented School of Rock Method, Performance Program consists of a weekly group rehearsal where kids and teens learn by playing rock music's most iconic songs with a band composed of their peers. Students are assigned songs and parts that are tailored to them based on their age, experience, and ability to learn new skills and concepts. Students then work through their parts in weekly private music lessons, and refine the skills and concepts that those songs introduce. The goal of this curriculum is to prepare kids and teens for live performances. Every few months, Performance Program students take the stage and play at local music venues in front of a live audience.

PIONEERS OF ROCK

ROCK 101 | AGES 7-10 | MONDAYS, 4:30PM-6:00PM, 6:00PM-7:30PM OR WEDNESDAYS, 5:00PM-6:30PM

From the beginning of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the 1940’s and 1950’s to the introduction of its sub-genres, this show has it all!  We’ll be exploring the entire history of the genre, starting from Chuck Berry and moving towards today’s rock and roll.

one hit wonders

rock 102 | ages 10-13 | tuesdays, 5:00pm-7:00pm

It's easy to remember the big names that hog all the airwaves of classic rock radio. It's even easier to forget all the bands who don't have their own chapter in rock history. Underappreciated, short-lived, or unable to follow up on the promise of a hit single, this show is an opportunity to celebrate those throughout the decades who were able to catch just a handful of glory at the edge of the spotlight.

Listen to: 867-5309 (Jenny) by Tommy Tutone, "Closing Time" by Semisonic, "No Rain" by Blind Melon, "Take on Me" by a-ha, etc.

ROCK N GROHL

ROCK 103 | AGES 13-HS SENIOR | THURSDAYS, 5:00PM-7:00PM

From his youngest days in Nirvana to his legendary career as the Foo Fighters' front man, Dave Grohl's influence on rock is a constant. With a reputation as the "Nicest Guy in Rock," it's no wonder that he's collaborated with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Paul McCartney, Tenacious D, and Them Crooked Vultures. He's shared the stage with rock's greatest musicians, including Queen, Lemmy Kilmister, David Lee Roth, and even Rick Astley that one time. A powerhouse of rhythm and riffs, any song with Grohl's influence is sure to get your head banging!

Check out: Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures
