Robert Grenert
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Assistant Music Director
The guitar Robert got for his 13th birthday sat unused for two years. By age 15, Robert decided he would teach himself how to play, and for the next year that guitar was constantly slung around his shoulder. Being homeschooled, there was plenty of time for music every day. By 16, he had learned enough to start writing instrumental songs and would need a better amp to go with his new skills. Robert then participated in open mic nights at local blues bars in Scottsdale to get used to performing on stage with other musicians. Inspired by artists like Jeff Beck, and bands like blink-182, Robert found a bassist and drummer on Craigslist and formed his band 'No Longer Together', which played their first show in May 2007, and included several original songs. Robert’s sister Katie joined the band on bass in 2008, and the siblings are now known for their vocal harmonies and energetic live shows.

Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Show Director Brandon Biallas
Brandon Biallas
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Show Director
Brandon was born in Scottsdale, Arizona. Raised on a steady diet of classic rock since birth courtesy of his father's extensive music collection, he has aspired to accumulate a vast wealth of musical knowledge ever since. Brandon first obtained an acoustic guitar at the age of 12 when his uncle gave it to him for his birthday. He quickly realized that he was incapable of putting it down. This would eventually turn into prominent band roles in high school music ensembles; eventually culminating in him getting to perform on lead guitar at his own high school graduation.

Studying under the guidance of veteran guitar teacher, Norris Lewis, for ten years at Milano's Music in Mesa, AZ, Brandon became well-versed in playing a large variety of musical styles. Since Lewis' passing, Brandon continuously pursues musical opportunities in order to continue growing as a musician; in an effort to make his late teacher proud. He has obtained a degree from the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Audio Engineering and he is also about to complete a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy studies at ASU School of Music in Tempe, AZ.

Brandon had the pleasure of performing with his band, Something Went Awry, at SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas back in 2014, opening up for the legendary jazz guitarist, Stanley Jordan at the Elephant Room. He also frequently fills in for bands that need help when their members call out sick or quit; most recently filling in on lead guitar duties for local prog-rock legends, Bear Ghost, for their album release show at the Crescent Ballroom in late 2023. He releases music under his own name and also under the band name "Disappearing Act", an ongoing math-prog rock project.

When Brandon isn't enjoying every single second of teaching music to students, he enjoys playing video games, reading, and hanging out with his grumpy calico cat, Buttercup during his free time.
