THE BEATLES CAMP

The Beatles are undoubtedly one of the most important rock ‘n’ roll bands of all time and their songs have greatly influenced the direction of modern music. Come celebrate the best songs from their vast collection of hits and Billboard-topping classics. Students at this music camp will spend Monday through Friday learning and practicing songs from The Beatles, all culminating in a live performance. Great for students 8-18 years of age who have had some previous instruction.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Camp runs Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 2:30pm each day

Each day consists of rehearsals, practice time and fun music-based games and activities
On Friday, campers will play and perform the songs they’ve been working on throughout the week!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Students can expect an exciting and educational week of learning music taught by our talented camp instructors. Each day, students will be asked to bring lunch, snacks, water, and hearing protection.
At School of Rock, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all campers. To help us maintain this space, we ask parents to avoid packing any nut products in lunches or snacks. We also prohibit any toy or real weapons from being brought to camp.

School of rock has been life-changing for my son. The programs and the teachers are fantastic. He’s been playing guitar since age 12 and now he’s 17. But since we started there this past January his growth in the past few months has gone farther than all the years combined of where he used to go for guitar and his skill and confidence and technicalities are so advanced people think he’s professional now. I’m so thankful for the opportunities of the doors are opening in my sons life and I appreciate everyone there!! He’s making life long friends and the school really supports my sons endeavors, and helps give him the direction he needs to be successful!!

One of the coolest aspects of the School of Rock is its focus on hands-on learning. Students not only learn how to play instruments, but they also get the opportunity to apply what they've learned by performing in front of live audiences. This real-world experience is invaluable and helps students develop confidence and stage presence.

Ian McNerney- Drum Teacher/Guitar Teacher/Bass Teacher

Growing up in a military family and moving frequently, Ian relied on music as a creative outlet and source of entertainment and solace. He started out playing the piano and guitar, but it wasn’t until his family settled east of the Tampa area that Ian found a love of percussion. He quickly joined his middle school orchestral program and became interested in jazz and classical percussion. Ian continued to hone his skills as a member of the Indoor Percussion Group at his high school, where he was chosen to compete in the WGI Indoor Percussion World Championships Scholastic Open Division and was recognized for visual and technical performance. After moving to St. Pete in 2018, Ian participated in the Music Industry Recording Arts (MIRA) Program at St. Pete College, focusing primarily on recording, mixing and production. Around that time, he also helped form the alternative rock band The Opportunists, and began gigging around St. Pete, writing, recording and producing original music. In 2020, The Opportunists released their debut album, including the track "Mr. Take It Slow," a collaboration with the Florida Orchestra. Ian’s passion for music and love of teaching make him a perfect fit for drum instruction at the St. Pete School of Rock.
