Drum Teacher Carlo
Carlo
Drum Teacher
As a kid, Carlo would find objects that could mimic the sound of drums and eventually settled on the top-loading washing machine at home. The ping of the lid was the ride, tapping the side with his foot yielded the bass drum, and the metal panel of buttons and dials gave the short snap of a snare. Hearing Carlo's aptitude for playing beats on the washing machine was eventually enough to convince his parents that it might be time to get their son a real drum set. One day, at 10 years old, Carlo’s father surprised him by bringing home a drum set. From that point on, his passion for drumming had become his lifelong pursuit.

Carlo keeps an open mind for all styles of music. He has played in an eclectic range of musical situations such as symphonic band, drumline, jazz, Mexican banda and cumbia, punk, rock, metal, rap, gospel, contemporary worship, and musical theater; as well outsider art forms like avant-garde art-rock noise. In all musical situations, there is always something to learn. As an instructor, Carlo not only loves for his students to develop their skill set for the instrument but also to develop their creative expression and exploration of music.

Carlo gigs regularly (almost every Friday night) throughout the year with a local rock cover band, CC Stugino. He is also a drummer in rotation for a few church worship bands.
