Singing is a hobby for this performance group student. She hopes to keep improving with more practice.  

For almost two years, Zayna Abualfoul has been taking vocal lessons from the School of Rock in Cedar Rapids. She was interested in learning because singing is one of her hobbies.

“I love to sing. I sing all the time at home,” she said. Being part of the performance group means there are opportunities to practice with other members during the week. Abualfoul says the most satisfying part of learning is getting better.

“Practicing it makes you better,” she said. “My goal is to practice during lessons so that I can sound better.”

Besides singing, something else that helps with Abuafoul’s knowledge is playing violin at school. While she continues lessons and playing with other musicians, her next goal is to be able to sing the song Sweet Child of Mine.
