Des Moines Water Works Park is a growing venue for local musicians.  With plenty of space, the Lauridsen Amphitheater and Killinger Family Stage serve as a great spot for shows.  Recently big names such as Lynrd Skynrd, Willie Nelson, and Styx hosted their shows at this venue.  So, it was an honor for the West Des Moines Rock 101 and Performance Program groups to play their season show at this iconic location.

The performers ranged in age between 8 and 18 years old, rocking several themes throughout the afternoon, including Best of the 90s, Pop Punk, Alice in Chains vs Pearl Jam, CCR, The Who, and CBGB in addition to the Rock 101 performances.

Around 600 people enjoyed the show that afternoon, but Iowa weather had other plans.  The rain started to pour and our groups stopped for about 20 minutes because the wet weather blew out a mixer!  Thankfully, our team rushed to fix the issue and the rain did not steal the show.  A big thanks to all the audience members who braved the weather to support our rockers!
