The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce returned to an in-person format for the 2021 Annual Meeting and Spotlight Awards ceremony, with a crowd of 140 people attending the event on a steamy Monday evening in an open-air pavilion at the Farmington Polo Club. The event featured live music courtesy of School of Rock’s Seekonk, MA, house band.
According to MIT, the latest neuroscience shows that learning a musical instrument increases brain power. A January 2021 study published in The Journal of Neuroscience says what actually does increase brain power is teaching kids to play a musical instrument.

The leader in performance-based music education is enhancing its proprietary curriculum to feature more music created by Black artists. The goal is to further educate students on the Black community’s history and central contributions to the development of Rock and Roll.
As part of the program, students will have one weekly private lesson on an instrument of their choice where they learn concepts, technique and theory.
It all started with a thousand kids talking online to Jay Weinberg, the drummer of Slipknot. Then came live access to Frank Zummo from Sum 41. The P!NK Band jumped in next to give tips and answer questions...
