Our music education programs are the most revolutionary approach to teaching music. Students work with their instructor in private lessons then bring those skills to their weekly group rehearsal where they practice their song assignments and hone musicianship skills like teamwork, collaboration, resilience, and confidence. ROCK 101
AGES 7-10 | rehearsals: monday, tuesday or friday 4:15 | saturday 12:45
Rock 101 is an amazing starting point for our young beginners. Our students learn to rock with one-on-one instruction combined with learning scaled back versions of songs from our setlist library in a supportive and fun group setting. Students build a solid foundation of skills in preparation for graduating to the Performance Program. Rock 101 students perform live as the opening act for the Performance Program at our end of season shows.
PERFORMANCE PROGRAM: METALLICA
Ages 10-17 | rehearsals: mondays 6:00-8:00
Metallica rose to prominence in the 1980s as leaders of the "Thrash Metal" scene, pairing heavy, aggresive guitar riffs with fast, driving rhythms punctuated by James Hetfield's signature snarl. Their success grew into the 90s with well-crafted songs like Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, and Sad But True, leading to Grammy wins, mainstream recognition and influencing all of the metal that has followed. A must-do show for aspiring shredders and musicians who want to lean into heavy skills.
PERFORMANCE PROGRAM: BEST OF THE 2000s
ages 10-17 | rehearsals: tuesdays 6:00-8:00
Celebrate the massive creativity and diversity of the 2000s with artists that draw from a greater variety of influences than any previous point in history. Students will experience a broad music education that includes the revival of retro sounds, expression of modern sensibilities, traditional rock compositions, and complex songwriting. This setlist will provide challenges and interests for students of all ages and ability levels.
PERFORMANCE PROGRAM: CBGB
ages 10-17 | rehearsals: thursdays 6:00-8:00
The CBGB show is an overview of the early New Wave bands who got their break at the legendary NYC club. When CBGB opened in 1973, no one had any idea that a Bowery dive bar would become knows as the birthplace of Punk. This show offers a diverse and highly educational mix of ridiculously cool artists that can challenge students on any instrument and experience level.
PERFORMANCE PROGRAM: TAYLOR SWIFT
ages 10-17 | rehearsals: Fridays 6:00-8:00
One of the most successful musical artists of all time, Taylor Swift's "eras" of music incorporate elements of Pop, Rock, Country, Folk, Emo and Disco. This show is a great fit for all instruments and experience levels. An incredible artist is at their best when supported by an incredible band, and Taylor Swift's band features some of the most accomplished musicians on the planet, playing challenging and highly detailed arrangements. This show is a great fit for all instruments and experience levels.
ADULT PROGRAM: LAST CALL!
ages 18+ | rehearsals: mondays 8:00-10:00
It's Last Call! You don't have to go home but you can't stay here. BUT you do have time for ONE.MORE.SONG! What is that one hit that gets the whole joint jumping and belting out in unison? Bring your favorite memories and ideas from the 80s to today for this collaborative setlist for adult musicians of all ages and experience levels.
