To be eligible, schools must exhibit an exemplary level of achievement in the areas of school safety, utilization of the patented School of Rock Method™, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence over the course of the calendar year. Headliner award recipients represent schools that have not only met, but surpassed all expectations, in all categories.
School of Rock teaches guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard + piano, and singing. What sets School of Rock apart from traditional music lessons is our Method™ which combines one-on-one instruction with group rehearsals and live performances, teaching students how to play together as a band.

At School of Rock Montclair, we start as young as age 3 with our Little Wing program. We begin individual lesson at age 7.
School of Rock is a performance based music school. This means all of our programs are group based with an element of a private lesson. Students learn more effectively when they practice in a band setting in addition to their lesson, since they get to use what they learn a real live music setting. We strongly encourage the group rehersals, not just for the educational reasons, but also for the social aspect.
