Students at School of Rock Tulsa / Broken Arrow, a performance based music school, performed at Cain’s Ballroom this evening. Jason Northrop is a Rehearsal director at School of Rock and has been with the school for years. Northrop said it’s hard to put into words the amount of pride he feels in seeing his students play. “It’s hard to put that into words, it really brings me a lot of pride. And I personally have had some of these kids as my private students and I’ve seem them go from our beginning group to our house band playing Rocklahoma last year, it’s hard to measure that much pride,” he said. Northrop said David Lewis, the franchise owner of School of Rock Tulsa / Broken Arrow, is one who sets up events like this. “He’s the franchise owners and he’s the one who books events like this. And he puts in a lot of hard work and really tries to make this the most awesome experience he can for the students,” Northrop said. Northrop said the event is about making the students feel like rock stars and showing off their hard work. “Some of these students are pretty young, they probably don’t understand the history behind Cain’s Ballroom here in Tulsa, but I think it’s really an experience for them, they’re really making them feel like rock stars and really having all the hard work they put into the show pay off,” Northrop said. Northrop said they have programs for elementary schoolers, middle schoolers and high schoolers. “We’re called the School of Rock, we’re located at 71st and Garnett and we offer lessons for all ages, all skill levels, and it’s a whole lot of fun here, so I encourage you to check us out,” Northrop said.
