The International Franchise Association (IFA) named Paulo Portela, owner of School of Rock Brasil, as a 2024 Franchisee of the Year. Portela was honored at the 65th IFA Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, for being an outstanding franchise establishment owner-operator. The IFA Franchisee of the Year awards are given to the top franchisees from IFA member brands across industries from around the country and the world.

Witnessing the profound impact of performance-based music education firsthand, his vision quickly expanded beyond his initial investment and he became the master franchisee for Brazil in 2017. Portela spearheaded remarkable growth, establishing a robust network of over 50 schools with many more in development. His leadership, combined with his sharp business acumen and unwavering commitment to quality, has positioned School of Rock as a leading force in music education throughout Brazil.
