Somehow, the musical master Jon Batiste, has never heard the music of Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, better known to audiences around the world as Chappell Roan. Batiste recently played the National Anthem at the Super Bowl and Ms. Roan recently took home the coveted Best New Artist award at the Grammys.

As New Orleans catches its collective breath after Mardi Gras, the upcoming week will be relatively quiet. Case in point: Tipitina’s is closed this weekend. But there is still live music to be found at the Maple Leaf Bar, Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro and elsewhere.

Harry Connick Jr. will mark a deeply personal milestone when he takes the main stage at Carnegie Hall for the first time in May 2026. According to The Associated Press, the renowned musician will premiere an original composition in honor of what would have been his mother’s 100th birthday, as part of the celebrated venue’s 2025-26 season.

School of Rock Metairie/New Orleans will be closed early on Feb. 21, and Feb. 22. We will be closed Feb. 27, March 3 and 4 due to parades in front of our location.

YLC Wednesday at the Square is a free concert series in the heart of New Orleans Central Business District.
